Okay, so if I wear these babies to church and everyone compliments me on my skinnies. Vanity sizing!? Great, like I need something else to make the "shopping for my wife" experience any more difficult.

Walking into JCrew or Banana Republic can be overwhelming as it is knowing what size my wife is, then add the moment she tries on the gift and it is way off size... that will be the straw that breaks the camels back.

Any basic advice for guys out there trying to do right by their better half in the clothing and accessories department?

I love the high you get with a good deal and I'm completely guilty of bargain bragging...I just can't help telling people how much (or little) I paid for something when they compliment it. Hiya Mesia! Thanks for leaving a comment - great to have someone relate to my style! Our wardrobe personalities must be related. As for shopping - where don't I shop would be a better place to start. I seriously don't discriminate. But when I'm looking for couture stuff, I do the normal upscale department stores. There's always some combo of coupons, rewards floating around out there. I must seem like the craziest coupon tottin' cheapskate when I checkout sometimes. But in the end, practice practice practice...just like anything else, you just learn how to find the bargains! I'm sure Matt will understand :)

hopefully this summer i will not deteriorate into various t-shirts paired with t-shirt material skirts and lovingly paired with a fabulous marc jacobs. where are all the deals this summer? it seems like all you can buy are dollar flip flops at old navy and a rainbow of tees at the gap. just waiting for the half-yearly which starts next month. hopefully it will be better than last year. yippee!

Lisa, I love your journal entry! You are too funny! I so love your humor and I am American made with French and Italian parts and I am an independent voter!!! I there with you on that! As for the shopping, I get your style! I feel I go between surfer lacked look to chic depending upon my mood. So, you do have to tell me where you shop! I love a great bargain.
